Runway 2 Empowerments objective is to create a annual movement that will address the tragedies that are plaguing the teen community. Yung Ro, the chairman of R2E, will en-courage and educate teens on four general areas that will be addressed quarterly.
1st Quarter focus is VIOLENCE due to the over whelming crime rate that is being committed by teens. Gang Violence is reoccurring, so Yung Ro will be addressing the situation in efforts to create truce between rival gangs. Implement Operation Mask which will provide the service of covering gang tattoos for FREE to prevent negative profiling. This is for individuals who are sincerely trying to get a new start on life. Career consultation will also be available which will be later discussed in DROP OUT and ILITERACY.
2nd Quarter focus will be TEEN DROP OUT and ILITERACY. St. Louis’ drop out statistics is increasing at an alarming rate. Therefore R2E will encourage teens to pursue primary as well as secondary education. Many urban youth are enchanted with the athletic and entertainment industry. Many feel that their natural talent excludes them from needing secondary education. Yung Ro, a two time Billboard artist will use his popularity to educate his peers that knowledge fuels success. He will also create a career or internship program which will assist youth to get a better insight on their desired career, trade, or field. How to research their goal, create an effective résumé, obtain possible funding to achieve their dream, and gain experience in desired fields via internship programs.
3rd Quarter focus will be STD PREVENTION. The metropolitan areas have seen a critical rise in teen STD’s and PREGNACY. Therefore R2E realizes that a dire solution is needed. R2E will work with the St. Louis Health Dept. (Ms. Brandy Mayes) to educate youths on making wrong decisions that may affect their health and future.
4th Quarter focus point will be on HEALTHY LIVING. R2E will address teen diets that are affecting obesity, health/medical problems and much more. The metropolitan area has bare witness to an increase of obesity cases in youth’s medical problems, among young athletes and lack of knowledge on nutritional resources.
Yung Ro, is owner of BP ENT, a 16 year company located at 2008 Olive downtown St. Louis. The company umbrellas Pearl Gallery Tattoo (formerly Black Pearl), a recording studio, and R2E (youth awareness movement.) The company has a deep rooted relation with the surrounding communities which has gained them an effective level of respect among the youth. Yung Ro is committed to re-nourish his city’s morals and morale. He realized that society’s downhill spiral can only be remedied by direct involvement of a positive leader. Yung Ro is more than willing to take on that job. As a teen himself the young entertainer stresses, “We are the future of tomorrow.” His motto is “I’m a fan of my fans. They make me who I am”.
R2E is accepting donations and sponsorships to achieve its goal. R2E is committed to improving the teen community well being and has history in doing so for the past 16 years. For more info
